Democrat Lockdowners Keep Getting Caught Breaking Their Own Rules
Those leading the charge to keep America closed seem to have a problem living under their own rules.
On Tuesday, Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was caught in hot water when her husband sought expedited boat service to take the family out on a lake in northern Michigan. While Whitmer lifted statewide lockdown restrictions prior to the holiday weekend, the governor still warned residents not to travel.
“If you don’t live in these regions… think long and hard before you take a trip into them,” Whitmer said in a public press conference earlier this month.
Just days later, the owner of Northshore Dock LLC in Traverse City received a request from Whitmer’s husband, Marc Malloy, leveraging his wife’s high status to get the family boat up and running.
“This morning, I was out working when the office called me, there was a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend,” Northshore Dock owner Tad Dowker wrote in a since-deleated Facebook post. “Being Memorial weekend and the fact that we started working three weeks late means there is no chance this is going to happen.”
After explaining the long queue to Malloy, Whitmer’s husband flexed the family’s prestige to cut in line.
“I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?” Mallory inquired, reported the Detroit News.
Clearly it didn’t, and an embarrassed Whitmer who is on the shortlist to be former Vice President Joe Biden’s fall running mate tried to blow off the incident as nothing but a “failed attempt at humor.”
In neighboring Illinois, the state’s Democratic governor simply fled the state.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker and his family have been spending time on their farms in Florida and Wisconsin while Pritzker keeps the state on lockdown.
“If his family can’t even heed the guidance of his own stay at home order, how does he expect Illinois voters to do the same?” blasted the Republican National Committee in a May 4 email.
Pritzker decried the fair criticism as “reprehensible.”
Out west in New Mexico, Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who also happens to be a top competitor in the Biden veepstakes stands accused of opening up a jewelry shop to buy an item after ordering all non-essential businesses closed.
Meanwhile in Virginia, fellow Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam was spotted mingling with reporters and constituents on Virginia Beach without wearing a mask even as the governor urged residents to don face coverings when out in public. Starting Friday, Virginia residents will be required by law to wear face masks in public under a new executive order.
“Wearing a mask could literally save someone else’s life,” Northam said, who is a physician.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has also been caught in his fair share of quarantine rule-breaking. He was seen taking a stroll in an overcrowded park in April and going to a gym across the city in March while his subjects were ordered to stay home.
Elites in the media have also engaged in widespread lockdown hypocrisy leaving their homes while shaming others for doing the same.
In April, CNN’s Chris Cuomo staged a bizarre emergence from his New York basement marking the first time the network anchor apparently came upstairs after testing positive for the virus, only to be exposed as fraudulent showmanship. Cuomo was diagnosed with the virus on March 31, and aired his official “reentry” on April 21. On April 12 however, Cuomo was spotted visiting another property in East Hampton, at least a 30-minute drive away from his home.
Just this week, an MSNBC reporter shaming people at a Wisconsin lake for not wearing masks was humiliated on air for employing a double-standard by a park pedestrian who the cameraman singled out.
“You can see, here, nobody’s where them,” MSNBC’s Cal Perry said directing the camera to a man in the parking lot without a face covering.
“Including the cameraman,” the man replied back. “Half your crew is not wearing a mask.”
