The race for one of Massachusetts’ Senate seats is heating up. According to recent poll, the race for the state’s fourth district is neck and neck.
The election is between longtime incumbent Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.), who is the grandson of the late U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
The race has prompted national headlines from critics, who have accused Kennedy of creating division within the Democrat Party. However, Kennedy hasn’t backed down. In fact, he’s ramped up online campaign efforts and commenced posting daily Facebook live videos since the coronavirus.
“So for those of you who are out there fighting through this, doing everything you’ve got, our doctors, our nurses, our EMTs, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and all those essential workers stocking the grocery stores, delivering packages, postal workers and everybody else: thank you,” stated Rep. Kennnedy.
Moving forward, the two are expected to face off in a debate this June.
